NETOP SCHOOL

Software for Networked Classrooms

Feature-rich NetOp School puts teachers, professors and corporate trainers center stage in networked classrooms, labs, wireless carts or Internet-based virtual classrooms. This newest generation of lab and classroom management software facilitates true collaboration with your class while ensuring that you are in full control of classroom technology at all times.

The Award-Winning NetOp School enables a teacher, or instructor, to increase student time-on-task by being able to monitor their PC activity while they work. Teachers can also enhance classroom  interactivity with NetOp by broadcasting live demo screens to participants; mark up the featured screen to highlight a lesson; create monitored chat rooms or allow students to send you  private questions via an instant message button located on student PC. NetOp School provides many other useful tools to help instructors multi-task their efforts including the ability to send coursework and files to all student PCs, remote control students for one-on-one instruction, shut down or restart PCs, broadcast and control multimedia files and view your classroom in several different ways.

BENEFITS THAT WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU TEACH

  • Increase Student Time-on-Task by having the ability to quickly and easily watch exactly what they are doing on their PCs. Just knowing you have that ability will keep them working and on task. Plus you can call them to attention with a single button and freeze your students’ keyboards and mice during lectures and demos.
  • Increase classroom interactivity by providing demos or instruction to one, several or all students at once; students can also send you a private message or question. Plus you can show one student's screen to everyone else to teach by example or hand over control of the demo to any student.
  • Easily Multi-Task your efforts by doing much more with your students, computers and coursework - all from your desk.
  • Easy to install and use - even for non-computer experts.
  • Your network administrator will love this software. No server installation necessary. Low network usage. No changes to your PC drivers. And no need to reboot your PC after installation.
  • Broadcast and demo multi-media 'movies' to students, such as Flash, AVI or MPEG files.
  • No darkening of the room is necessary as with overhead, or video-projector sessions - and NetOp is much less expensive than those systems.
  • Based on the award-winning, proven technology of NetOp Remote Control. Used on millions of PCs throughout the world
  • Software only, no extra hardware installation necessary, less complicated to use - and you can be up and using the free evaluation the same day you download it.
  • Supports XP (including SP1) and all your Windows PCs.

"NetOp School has performed flawlessly.  It took me only 15 minutes to learn how to use the tools and I began using the software in class the very next day." Rob Murray, Ivy Tech State College

NetOp School Supports Terminal Server
NetOp School for Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition (TSE) is in essence identical to the standard NetOp School modules under Windows, as far as feature set and performance. The main difference is a specific Terminal Server Protocol (TSP) to handle the communication between the sessions running on the Terminal Server to make Teacher and Student modules act like they are running on PCs on a network.

NetOp School supports Windows NT 4.0/2000 Terminal Server Environments (TSE). This has been implemented by adding a Danware developed Terminal Server communication profile to NetOp modules installed on a Terminal Server. This communication profile is applied only for communication between sessions on a Terminal Server. The features and performance are in essence identical to running NetOp School in a network.

Single Server Solution
In a single server environment with terminals connected directly to the server, the Teacher and TSE Student modules communicate directly using the NetOp Terminal Server Protocol (TSP). The Teacher module runs from the console.

Teacher PC on a Network - or Server Farm Solution
In a mixed environment using terminals, PCs and one or more servers on a network - the NetOp Gateway is necessary to connect Teacher and TSE Student modules using the NetOp Terminal Server Protocol (TSP). The Teacher module will be run from a PC. Student PCs on the network in the given environment can also participate in the Classroom.
